Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 (based on skill level) Job Type: Permanent/Full time About Us: Plastipack is an independent specialist manufacturer headquartered in the UK, producing swimming pool and water storage cover materials. We provide energy and resource saving products sold in roll form to fabricators for both commercial and domestic applications worldwide. About the role: This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Engineer. The Engineer will be responsible for day -to-day tasks including equipment breakdown repairs and performing planned maintenance both mechanical and electrical. The ideal candidate will have an electrical bias with good electrical controls skills. Plastic extrusion or industrial manufacturing experience would be an advantage. The role would initially be a day shift, but flexibility is needed for working an afternoon / evening shift if required. Please note we are not sponsoring overseas candidates. Applicants must live within 1 hours commute from the factory. Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluating machinery and making recommendations for improvementsCoordinating maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operationalAssist with spare part stock controlInspecting machinery and reporting any faults to management and SHEQ manager.Identifying faults and troubleshooting wherever possible.Implementing and improving preventative maintenance methods and procedures.Conducting frequent quality checks on equipment to ensure no maintenance is requiredKeeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance carried outCarrying out PPM tasks to all machineryMaintenance and testing of electrical equipment to include PAT testing, Fire alarms & emergency light testingCreating Safe Operating proceduresOverhauling and replacing parts according to scheduleHelping to improve and implement electrical H&S to include LOTOEnsuring the organisation complies with safety regulations while maintenance takes placeResponding immediately to equipment breakdownsFixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installedKeeping the production manager and engineering manager informed of progressAny other reasonable request About you: Electrical qualification - NVQ level 3 or equivalentIEE 18th edition wiring regulations certification would be beneficialGood knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements.Working as part of a teamBe a highly motivated workerStrong communication skills both written and verballyFlexibility in working hours to assist with projects and breakdowns.Knowledge of industrial machinery to include PLC, 3 phase systems, control systems, motors and drives would be beneficialGood fault-finding skillsKnowledge of installation of electrical circuits and equipment and current guidance.Basic IT literacy to include Microsoft Excel & WordA degree of multiskilling to assist with mechanical work (30% bias towards Mechanical skills) Please click the APPLY button to submit your CV for this role Candidates with experience or relevant job titles of Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist, Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Service Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Technician, and Senior Electrical Maintenance Officer may also be considered.
