Employment Principal Associate
A prestigious legal client is seeking an experienced Employment Principal Associate to join their highly regarded Employment team. What you'll do: As an Employment Principal Associate based in Birmingham, you will: Manage a diverse caseload encompassing both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters for clients across various sectors. Advise clients on all aspects of employment law including redundancy processes, disciplinary procedures, grievances, whistleblowing cases, and discrimination issues. Work closely with Partners, Senior Associates, Solicitors, and King's Counsel on significant equal pay and industrial relations projects without advocacy requirements. Take responsibility for conducting the defence of Employment Tribunal claims from inception through to resolution. Provide expert guidance on change management projects such as restructuring exercises, changing terms and conditions of employment, and consultation obligations. What you bring: To excel as an Employment Principal Associate you will bring substantial experience gained from advising on a wide range of employment law matters. You will have: At least five years' post-qualification experience (PQE) advising on employment law matters within private practice or an equivalent setting. Demonstrable ability to manage your own caseload. Experience handling Employment Tribunal claims from start to finish with sensitivity and professionalism. Comprehensive understanding of redundancy procedures, disciplinary actions, grievance processes, whistleblowing protections, and discrimination legislation knowledge of equal pay claims or industrial relations projects is desirable. Previous involvement in mentoring or supporting junior fee-earners within a collaborative team environment would be advantageous.
