Electrically Biased Maintenance EngineerLocation: Thatcham, BerkshireSalary: Up to £52,000 (with flexibility for exceptional candidates)Shift Pattern: Rotating 3-shift pattern (6-2 / 10-6 / 2-10)Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer | ManufacturingAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business based in Thatcham.Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for providing both planned and reactive maintenance support across a range of automated production and packaging equipment. This role would suit a proactive engineer looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out electrical and mechanical maintenance activities across the siteRespond to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding to minimise downtimeMaintain and repair a variety of automated production machinery and control systemsDiagnose faults on: PLC-controlled equipmentAC/DC drives and motorsServo drive systemsInvertersSingle and three-phase electrical systemsComplete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedulesMonitor equipment performance, downtime and overall efficiencyDrive continuous improvement and fault prevention initiativesRecord maintenance activities using a CMMS systemSupport machine upgrades, refurbishments and improvement projectsAssist with developing operator knowledge and equipment understandingContribute to site engineering and capital projectsWhat We're Looking ForLevel 3 Engineering qualification or equivalentMulti-skilled engineering background with a strong electrical biasExperience working within manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging or a similar industrial environmentStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsKnowledge of PLCs, drives, motors and industrial electrical systemsExcellent problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to maintenanceStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamPositive attitude with a continuous improvement mindsetDesirable18th Edition qualificationTime-served apprenticeship5+ years' post-apprenticeship experienceWhat's on Offer?Salary up to £52,000Some flexibility for outstanding candidatesOngoing training and development opportunitiesStable and growing manufacturing environmentVaried, hands-on engineering role with excellent technical exposureOpportunity to contribute to site improvement and automation projectsApply TodayIf you're an electrically biased maintenance engineer seeking a new challenge within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.
