Quality Control Operator – Manufacturing (End of Line)DepartmentProduction / QualityReports ToProduction Supervisor / Quality ManagerJob PurposeThe Quality Control Operator is responsible for inspecting finished metal products at the end of the production process to ensure they meet specified quality, dimensional, and packaging requirements before dispatch. This role focuses on accurate measurement, visual inspection, correct wrapping, and documentation to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Inspection & MeasurementMeasure finished metal products using appropriate measuring tools (e.g. tape measures, verniers, micrometers, gauges).Check dimensions, tolerances, straightness, surface finish, and overall appearance against drawings, job cards, and specifications.Identify non-conforming products and report defects promptly to the supervisor.Segregate rejected or suspect items according to company procedures.End-of-Production ChecksConduct final inspections before products leave the production area.Ensure quantities, part numbers, and job references match production documentation.Verify that all required quality checks have been completed before sign-off.Wrapping & PackagingWrap and protect finished metal products according to company and customer requirements (e.g. plastic wrap, paper, strapping, pallets).Ensure products are packaged to prevent damage during storage and transport.Label wrapped products correctly with job numbers, quantities, and identification tags.Documentation & RecordsComplete inspection records, check sheets, and production paperwork accurately.Record measurements, defects, and corrective actions as required.Sign off completed jobs once quality standards are met.Health, Safety & HousekeepingFollow all health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling.Use PPE correctly at all times.Maintain a clean and orderly work area.Skills & ExperienceEssentialExperience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.Ability to read basic engineering drawings and specifications.Competent using measuring equipment (tape, calipers, micrometers, gauges).Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Basic literacy and numeracy skills for recording measurements and paperwork.DesirablePrevious quality control or inspection experience.Knowledge of metal products, fabrication, or machining processes.Familiarity with quality standards or ISO systems.Personal AttributesMethodical and reliable approach to work.Good hand-eye coordination.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to raise quality concerns and stop non-conforming product.Physically capable of handling metal products safely.Working ConditionsFactory / workshop environment.Standing for extended periods.Manual handling of metal components.To apply for this exclusive opportunity, please submit an up-to-date Word version of your CV by clicking the Apply button, or contact me directly for a confidential discussion.If you have not been contacted by A1 Personnel within two weeks of submitting your application, please assume that your CV has not been shortlisted on this occasion.A1 Personnel is acting as a specialist recruitment consultancy in relation to this vacancy.
