Finance Director
Harper May is working with a growing financial services firm backed by experienced institutional investors. The business has built strong momentum in recent years, expanded its client base, and is now at a point where financial governance and strategic capability need to step up to match the pace of growth. They are seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function, set the agenda for financial planning and control, and work closely with executive leadership on capital allocation and risk oversight.The RoleYou will report directly to the Managing Director and sit at the executive table. The Finance Director role spans financial strategy, operational efficiency, and Board-level insight. You'll own the end-to-end finance agenda-from planning and reporting through to audit readiness and stakeholder management-while building and leading a growing finance team in a fast-moving environment.Key ResponsibilitiesShape and execute financial strategy in line with the firm's growth plan and investor expectationsBuild and own the annual planning cycle, rolling forecasts, and quarterly performance reportingEstablish and maintain robust financial controls, compliance, and governance frameworksManage balance sheet activity, working capital, and liquidity to support operational and strategic needsLead statutory and regulatory reporting, audit coordination, and external stakeholder relationshipsSupport M&A and capital project evaluation through rigorous financial analysisRecruit, develop, and lead the finance team to deliver timely, accurate insightWhat we are looking forQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least seven years in senior finance rolesDemonstrated experience in financial services, asset management, or other regulated sectorsComfort with balance sheet management, cash flow analysis, and regulatory complianceBoard-level exposure and the confidence to challenge and advise at senior levelTeam leadership track record with the ability to build capability in a growing businessClear communicator who can distil complexity for non-finance stakeholders
