Each week, thousands of people engage with our mosques, centres, and activities.Role purposeTo protect and grow UKIM’s brand and reach through an integrated media, marketing and communications strategy: clear messaging, consistent storytelling, strong digital presence, proactive press, and high-quality content that supports fundraising and programmes.Key responsibilities• Develop and implement the Media, Marketing & Communications Strategy with KPIs and dashboards; coordinate activity across all departments and channels (website, social, print, email, PR).• Act as brand champion; maintain style/tone of voice and asset governance; ensure accessibility and inclusivity in content.• Lead content planning and production (blogs, video, podcast, newsletters, design assets) and support campaigns with compelling creative.• Manage proactive/reactive press and media relationships; prepare timely press releases and media lines.• Oversee website content/UX (WordPress) and SEO; align with CRM and fundraising journeys.• Plan and manage budgets; procure and manage agencies/freelancers as needed.• Monitor trends; advise SMT on opportunities/risks; support organisation-wide projects and change initiatives.• Line-manage and develop the team; embed processes for briefs, approvals and post-campaign evaluations.• Ensure compliance with GDPR/ICO, Charity Commission guidance and the Code of Fundraising Practice (for fundraising-related comms).The post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable duties within the scope of their role and in line with the needs of UKIM.Person specificationEssential• Significant experience managing brand, digital marketing and communications in a charity or purpose-led organisation.• Strong copywriting and editorial standards; confident briefing, producing and editing multimedia content.• Experience with WordPress/SEO, analytics and social scheduling/reporting.• Team leadership; project and budget management.• Media handling and press office experience.• Collaborative style; able to translate organisational goals into audience-led content plans.Desirable• Familiarity with faith-based audiences and UK Muslim community contexts.• Design literacy (Adobe Creative Cloud) and/or basic video production.• Experience integrating fundraising propositions into marketing journeys.Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity & InclusionUKIM is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk.
