The opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter to join our Legal Expenses team here in our Croydon office. Working hybrid, (2 days in the office/3 days from home), the role works closely with other Underwriters and as a member of the wider BTE team. Our friendly and long standing team consist of 6 others, which include Senior Underwriters, Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters to work alongside. What you’ll be doing: Develop and maintain good relationships internally and externally Responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, via Schemes (Delegated and Master Policy) and Standalone LEI risks, in accordance with own personal level of underwriting authority. Our client is achieving record performances for lending on a regular basis, backed by excellent longstanding funding lines and further increased investment. The result has seen the lender double in size over the last 12 months, with ambitions to achieve the same again over the coming period. The lender offers a range of loans designed for commercial borrowers, such as property investors and developers. This includes solutions such as bridging finance, development exit loans and a range of Buy to Let and commercial property finance propositions. There are plans to broaden the product set moving forward too, with a view to ensuring they can continue to always support the needs of borrowers, with loan options ranging between £250k - £40m. This is a key appointment for the lender at an extremely busy time. Within the role you will work closely with the businesses BDM’s & brokers to assess & support their deals from a credit management perspective. You will manage and maintain a pipeline of activity to ensure loans are actioned & funded in line with SLA’s.
