New Product Development Lead
Our client, a successful tech scale-up, cash generative SME, with a £10m turnover and employing 80 staff, is looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven CEO, supported by a first-class senior leadership team. Their platform combines personalised technology with individualised coaching to deliver cutting edge support for nutrition and habit-forming, sustainable lifestyle changes. Developing on an existing product portfolio, they now seek a New Product Development Lead – Protein and Supplements - to take ownership of the development and launch of new products from concept to shelf. You will research market trends, create formulations, work with ingredient suppliers, ensure compliance with industry regulations and collaborate with Marketing and Operations to bring new ideas to life.As New Product Development Lead, you will:Research industry trends, consumer demand and competitor activity to identify new product opportunitiesDevelop and refine formulations for protein powders, supplements and related productsWork closely with suppliers, manufacturers and laboratories on samples, testing and scale-upProduce and maintain accurate product specificationsCarry out product testing with the team, relevant stakeholders and the wider marketEnsure products meet all relevant regulations, including labelling, claims and quality standardsProject manage the development timeline from concept to commercial launchCollaborate with Marketing to position and launch products effectivelyMonitor product performance and seek continuous improvementsWork with Production to ensure adequate stock levelsAs New Product Development Lead, you will need:A degree in Food Science, Nutrition or ChemistryExperience of product development within food, sports nutrition or supplementsKnowledge of food regulations, labelling laws and supplement complianceStrong project management and organisational skillsExcellent communication skills to deal with internal and external stakeholdersA creative, problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation in Health & WellbeingUnderstanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the commercial implications of new productsSalary & benefits:£30-45k pa25 days holiday + bank holidaysEmployee discountsFree on-site gymEnhanced sick pay schemeEnhanced maternity/paternity pay
