Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a globally recognised, market leading engineering & manufacturing firm, to help them recruit an Electrical Controls Engineer.My client specialise in the provision of bespoke equipment for the printing & packaging industries. They are currently looking for an Electrical Control and Design Engineer to join the team in Huddersfield, in order to support their aggressive plans for growth. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful design, implementation, and deployment of electrical and control systems, contributing to success of projects and customer satisfaction. Working Hours: some flexibility is possible Monday to Friday 8:30am- 5:30pm (with 3pm finish on Friday)40 hours a week Responsibilities: Design, wire, test, and install electrical control panels in adherence to the appropriate national standards.Ensure panels are certified according to the relevant standards for the country of installation.Interpret electrical drawings, evaluate FAT’s and hardware specifications.Write comprehensive functional specifications and other documentation for control systems.Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) to facilitate procurement and assembly processes.Document the overall system design and maintain necessary paperwork.Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for hydraulic and pneumatic components.Perform calculations as required to ensure accurate system functionality.Create efficient and reliable code for control and automation systems.Install and commission equipment within customer machinery.Adapt and modify customer existing sensor and system configurations as necessary.Ensure seamless integration of control systems into customer equipment. Required Skills: Strong design capabilities, including panel building and wiringProficiency in programming PLCs, Siemens, and ideally IDEC systemsExperience working to UL and CE markingsThorough understanding of control system documentation and functional specificationsFamiliarity with certification requirements and the ability to secure necessary certifications (e.g., UL and CE markings)Leadership skills / potentialExperience in creating P&IDs and performing relevant calculationsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to travel to customer sites, both within the UK and internationallyPossess an understanding of certification requirements for different countries and installationsApply for relevant certifications based on experience and knowledgeProgram PLCs – knowledge of Siemens systems and preferable experience with IDEC Desirable Skills: Experience in fabrication processesAble to lead a team of instrumentation fittersExcellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teamsA graduate with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with senior engineering, technical and operational positions in South Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
