We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult Acute to join the established team in an independent mental health hospital in Cheadle, Stockport. Set within picturesque landscaped gardens the hospital offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help people to live their best life in a safe and supportive environment. Working as part of a multi-skilled, experienced, motivated and creative Multi-Disciplinary Team within a 15 bed acute mental health unit for adult male and female patients offering a 24-hour admission service to support local NHS services and PICU wards. The ethos of the acute ward is to provide support in a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement during the in-patient stay. Situated within the grounds of Cheadle Royal Hospital supporting patients who present with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression, bipolar disorder and other diagnoses. For some patients, the ward will be their first admission to a mental health ward and the MDT will support them to overcome crisis and become well enough to be discharged into the community, whether this be home or to support living. The MDT consists of a Responsible Clinician (RC), Specialty Doctor, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapist, the Nursing Team and Psychology team and the goal of the MDT is to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of patients who come to Evergreen ward. This is a full time position and offers a competitive salary of £180,000 per annum and involves providing psychiatric care to inpatients alongside providing the clinical leadership on the unit to ensure safe and effective service delivery. The post is supported by a full time Specialty Doctor or Advanced Practitioner and the post holder will be working within a full Multidisciplinary Team. Your role will include: Clinical: Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDTTake overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDTTimely assessment of referrals along with the MDTConducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stake holders and carers.Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures.Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries.To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership.Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings.Participate in a non-resident second on call out of hour’s rota with a frequency of no more than 1:7 Management: Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with Ward ManagerEnsuring Ward is complaint with Organisational and Regulatory requirementsAttending ward governance meetings with ward managerWorking with organisational quality improvement (QPIs) initiativesAttending Monthly governance meetings. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join the team at the Spinney Hospital; Greater Manchester, to deliver high-quality clinical service in our 97 bedded all-male unit. The hospital offers comprehensive services for forensic inpatients covering the care pathway from medium to low secure and locked rehabilitation. One of the wards has learning disability low secure patients and one is a 10 bedded PICU. The Spinney hospital has been ranked as “Outstanding” by the CQC on two consecutive inspections in 2016 and 2018. It was rated “Good” in 2022. You will be one of five consultants at the Spinney. The holder of this post will be responsible for the care of 20 medium secure forensic inpatients. You will be supported by a specialty doctor. You will have access to a half day of CPD on Friday afternoons. This is attended by Elysium Northwest Consultants and the specialty doctors.You will have opportunities for research and audit and will have opportunities to feed into a regular monthly medics' meeting.There will be on call duties as 2nd on call in a two-tier system across the region, approximately twice a month. There is also opportunity for voluntary paid extra 1st on call shifts.You will work with the multi-disciplinary team, which is comprised of the consultant psychiatrist, specialty doctor, clinical psychologist, nursing, occupational therapists, social workers, forensic psychotherapist, speech and language therapist, physical health team, including a visiting GP every week and a nurse practitioner. Your responsibilities will include: Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDTAttend SMT morning handover.Assess referrals to determine suitability for admission.Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis & treatmentParticipate in ward rounds, clinical audit and quality improvement work.Chair and oversee CPA reviews.Lead the implementation of risk assessment and risk management.Participate in clinical governance and ensure implementation of policies and protocolsWork and liaise with external agenciesWrite and supervise various reports including Mental Health Act tribunals and managers’ reports and attend hearings. We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for a CAMHS Consultant to join the established team in an independent mental health hospital in Hale, Manchester This a part time vacancy (approximately 24 hours per week) working within the inpatient CAMHS 15 bedded specialist eating disorder service and outpatient clinic. The post offers a competitive salary of £195,496 per annum (pro rata to £125,107 at 0.64wte) and includes on call duties The Consultant Psychiatrist is part of and provides the clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team that aspires to provide excellent bespoke care to enable patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards discharge. The Consultant is responsible for leading the medical care of patients in their allocated caseload (up to ten patients), supervising their allocated Speciality Doctor and leading the multidisciplinary team. The role holder will have a case load of up to ten inpatients There is an additional Consultant Psychiatrist who also covers the ward. Clinical duties include leading ward rounds, CPA meetings, risk meetings and care plan meetings and leading treatment pathways for each patient. The role holder will be required to provide reports for CPA meetings and for the Hospital Managers, Mental Health Tribunal and Commissioners. Additionally, the role holder will be required to participate in site wide meetings including Clinical Governance and to take an active role in liaising with outside agencies promoting and developing the service.
