Duties for the position of Building Compliance Officer in Oxfordshire include ensuring the highest standards of compliance across the clients owned assets and buildings including all housing properties and corporate & commercial buildings. The Building Compliance Officer will implement and manage comprehensive storage and data relating to the clients safety strategies, ensuring compliance is met through relevant regulations and legislation to protect residents, building users and properties. Additional duties for the Building Compliance Officer include: Ensure all social housing properties and local authority buildings comply with relevant legislation according to the workstream.Ensure all necessary documentation is obtained and processed correctly to meet compliance obligations.Work with Project Mangers, Contract managers & Contractors, so coordination of documentation is received before month end.Auditing compliance in line with statutory compliance.To monitor and review and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices.Ensure effective communication and training of staff and residents regarding safety protocols.Managing access for fire safety assessments for all relevant propertiesReviewing RAMS to identify potential gaps and recommending improvements needed to external companies.Ensure all documents are received, recorded and agree authorisation before any site access is allowed.Contribute to the development of emergency response procedures with all departments.Coordinate and collate weekly fire/lift alarm checks, monthly EML/fire safety/water checks, where required and ensure effective communication of procedures to all user.Liaise with contractors and contract managers to obtain inspection and maintenance documents while understanding the difference types needed.Being able to create a schedule of works so all documents needed, are requested at the start of each month.Work closely with local fire and rescue services, building control, and other relevant agencies.Arrange meeting and document progress of all actions from each meeting. To apply for the position of Buildings Compliance Manager in Oxfordshire you should have: Essential Qualifications: (GCSE A-C) qualification or equivalent in English and Maths.Certification in complianceE-learning / CPD in related compliance areas Desirable Qualifications: Level 2 Certificate in Asset & Building Compliance Awareness Required Experience: Experience of working directly in compliance function workstream, preferably within the social housing sector or local authority.Knowledge or prioritising workloads on a risk-based approach, organisational skills and good knowledge of IT software required. Experience in developing and delivering safety based guidance. Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of the main 6 compliance areas that need to meet all legal requirements.Basic knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.Strong understanding of cyclical servicing timescales methodologies and prevention techniques.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
