Human Resources Operations Manager
Dalton Recruitment has a very exciting new opportunity available with one of their key clients for an operationally focused HR professional to join a prestigious brand as their UK HR Operations Manager. Managing a small team and with their Surrey HQ as a base, it will require extensive weekly UK travel but the successful candidate will take full ownership of the delivery of the tactical HR service, along with a small team of HR Advisors, across its 1000 employees.By building and developing relationships with leaders and colleagues at all levels across the business and supporting the People Director, Head of HR and People Business Partners, the HR Operations team plays a pivotal role providing expert HR advice & guidance across a wide range of employee relations, organisational development, and HR operational matters.This role needs someone with a contagious enthusiasm and hands-on passion for driving operational HR excellence through a business. It’s a very exciting time to be joining the HR team and wider organisation during a significant period of positive change.Paying a base salary £50K-£55K + Car Allowance, Bonus & Benefits, the role offers a genuine career opportunity for someone to step up or broaden their experience and make a tangible difference to the future of the organisation.Responsibilities to include:Employee Relations:Provide support, advice, coaching and guidance to people leaders and employees in relation to HR policies and procedures, employee relation issues and organisational change.Manage own ER case work and support the Head of HR with leading and managing complex case work varying from Flexible Working requests, Absence Management, Performance Management, Grievance and Disciplinary.Support with HR Administration for ER case work and employee life cycle including Maternity/Paternity leave processes.Maintain accurate reporting of all absence management, grievance and disciplinary issues.Champions the completion of good quality mid-year and annual appraisals to support with overall performance management.Delivers and supports the business on a wide range of People projects.Champion best practice, role model our principles and lead by example.Ensure personal behaviour promotes cultural change and reflects the values/behaviours and principles of the business.Support the People Director with ad hoc projects & activities.Policy Review:Support the Head of HR with the review of people policies to ensure they are legally compliant, up to date and meet the needs of the businessHighlight any changes to policies to ensure compliance with required consultation and escalation to ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately communicated.To check policies and procedures to make sure their application is handled in accordance with policy and has delivered the most effective outcome and recommend development initiatives.People Data:Support the organisation to analyse People trends and develop a strategy and process for consistent operational management (in line with policy) in partnership with People Leaders and the senior leadership group.Support and update People data and case management from appropriate systems to enable different audiences to understand the position and where improvements are being made, and more focus is required.Minimum Experience Required:Experienced, pragmatic HR professional with a demonstrable track record of managing large programmes of workPrevious experience managing a teamExcellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload within a complex environment and multiple stakeholdersAble to establish credibility at all levels to influence and guide management on all issuesPrevious experience of working within a unionised environmentKnowledge of employment legislationExcellent computer skills including word and excel and HR systems (Oracle would be advantageous)Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise wayExperience of working with employees at all levelsExperience of dealing with challenging situation where emotions may play a partAbility to empathise whilst maintaining professionalismStrong analytical capability – highly numerateMulti-site experienceIndustry experience in Transport/Logistics/Support Services of particular interestStrong attention to detail, happy to “roll their sleeves up”CIPD qualified Level 5 (desirable)Degree educated - preferably in either an HR or Law-related subjectDalton Recruitment Ltd is acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role.
