CNC Setter
An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Setter (Late Shift) to join our client, a respected precision engineering manufacturer delivering low-volume, high-accuracy tubular and threaded components to safety-critical sectors.As a CNC Setter, you will be programming, setting and running 2-axis lathes to tight tolerances, producing small batches and one-offs.This is a full-time, permanent position offering benefits, base salary £32,000 - £38,000 and £42,600 - £50,600 including late shift premium.You will be responsible forWriting new programs at the machine (longhand) and adjusting existing programs as requiredFull set-ups: material selection, tooling, workholding, offsets, speeds and feedsProgramming using Manual Guide i and standard G-codeIn-process verification with relevant metrology equipment to ensure conformanceInterpreting technical drawings, standards and geometric tolerancesProducing one-off and low/medium-volume parts across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materialsCollaborating with colleagues in machine shop, quality and production to maintain flow and right-first-time outputSafely handling larger workpieces with lifting aids (training provided)What we are looking forPreviously worked as a CNC Turner, CNC Programmer, CNC Operator, CNC Setter, CNC Machinist, CNC Setter Operator or in a similar role.Proven track record programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machinesConfident writing longhand programs at the control with minimal supervisionPractical experience with Manual Guide i and G-codeStrong knowledge of cutting data, tooling selection and geometric tolerancingComfortable carrying out in-process inspection and documenting resultsFluent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specificationsBackground in a machine shop producing precision components for demanding applicationsHoist training will be providedShift:Monday - Wednesday: 4.30pm - 3.30amThursday: 4.30pm - 1.30amWhat’s on offerCompetitive base salaryWorkplace pension schemeHealthcare provisionHoliday allowance including bank holidays, plus additional paid shutdown over the festive periodModern workshop with excellent working conditions and ongoing investment in people and equipmentThis is an exciting opportunity to elevate your career and become an integral part of a thriving engineering team.Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
