Façade Clerk of WorksA leading multidisciplinary built environment consultancy is seeking an experienced Façade Clerk of Works to join its London team.This is an excellent opportunity for a Façade Consultant / Clerk of Works with Façade specialism with strong construction-stage experience to work on live cladding remediation and façade projects across London and the wider region.The successful Façade Consultant will join a highly skilled consultancy team delivering technical, quality assurance and Clerk of Works-style services across residential, mixed-use, student accommodation, university and college schemes, including medium and high-risk buildings.The Façade Clerk of Works RoleThe successful Façade Clerk will work closely with the Head of Façade Consultancy and wider project teams to ensure façade and cladding remediation works are delivered in line with design intent, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.Responsibilities will include:Carrying out regular site inspections on live cladding remediation and façade construction projectsUndertaking Clerk of Works-style inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and installation qualityAssessing works against drawings, specifications, contract requirements and approved detailsIdentifying defects, non-compliance and deviations from design intentPreparing clear and accurate site inspection reports and project documentationCompleting technical and quality assurance audits of façade worksReviewing façade design, engineering and construction informationResponding to RFIs and supporting technical queries during the construction phaseAssisting with design reviews and the implementation of façade remediation solutionsUndertaking targeted intrusive inspections, measurements and material sampling where requiredSupporting tender reviews, contractor assessments and due diligence exercisesMonitoring compliance with relevant fire safety and building safety requirementsWorking collaboratively with project management, cost management and external design teamsSupporting the resolution of technical issues with contractors, consultants and clientsProducing high-quality reports, letters, correspondence and technical documentationTravelling to project sites across London, England and Wales when requiredThe Façade Clerk of WorksThe successful Façade Clerk of Works will ideally have:At least five years' relevant experience within a consultancy, engineering or built environment environmentA minimum of three years' practical experience undertaking site inspections or Clerk of Works duties on façade or cladding projectsA degree in building, engineering or a related disciplineMembership or associate membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, IFE, CABE, IFSM, CIBSE, ICWCIStrong technical knowledge of façade systems, cladding and fire safety measuresExperience assessing, designing or remediating façade systems on medium or high-risk buildingsExperience reviewing design, engineering and construction documentationThe ability to undertake technical audits, tender reviews, RFIs and due diligence reviewsKnowledge of BSR Gateway applications and compliance processesA clear understanding of Golden Thread requirements and building safety information managementStrong knowledge of PAS 9980Good knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) OrderExcellent report writing and technical documentation skillsStrong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and OutlookExperience using CMap, iAuditor, PlanRadar or similar digital reporting platformsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailThe ability to work independently and make informed technical decisionsA proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approachA commitment to checking the quality and accuracy of their own workThe ability to manage deadlines across multiple projectsIn ReturnSalary: £60,000 - £65,000BonusPensionPrivate healthcareGym membershipCPD, training and career progression25 days' annual leaveAdditional leave between Christmas and New YearThis is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy with a strong reputation across façade, fire safety, building surveying, project management and cost consultancy.If you are a Clerk of Works with experience in Facades, considering your career opportunities, please contact Megan Cole at Brandon James.REF:22612MC
