Are you an experienced Clerk of Works looking for a new project? SNG (Sovereign Network Group) is one of the largest housing associations in England. We have a great opportunity to join us as Clerk of Works – Property Maintenance & Technical Assurance in Wembley. Combining office and home working, and site visits across the Wembley and Herts area. The Role As Clerk of Works, you'll play a vital role in ensuring quality and compliance within our Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and Planned Works programs. You'll perform site inspections, ensure adherence to building standards, provide technical advice, and liaise with contractors and customers to maintain project momentum. Responsibilities include: Performing frequent inspections at project sites to assess construction quality, ensuring that works align with contractual specifications, building standards, and design detailsLogging inspection reports, issuing reports for non-compliance, and maintaining a comprehensive audit trail. Accurate records are crucial for internal use and external audits as required by SHDF and planned works requirementsServing as a point of contact on-site for contractors, guiding them on project requirements and ensuring compliance with the SHDF and planned works programsProviding technical support and advice to ensure adherence to construction and retrofit best practices, specifically in energy efficiency and sustainable design, helping meet SHDF's goalsActing as a liaison between the project team and customers, ensuring they understand the scope and benefits of retrofit and planned works projectsRegularly assessing quality control processes and suggesting improvements About you Experience in a Clerk of Works or similar quality assurance role, preferably in housing or public sector. You'll need to demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge and exceptional attention to detail, focusing on retrofitting and energy efficiency improvements. You'll also need: HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Studies, Construction Management, or related fieldStrong knowledge of construction standards, building regulations, energy efficiency measures, and sustainable building practices, particularly in relation to retrofit and decarbonisation projectsAbility to meticulously inspect works to ensure quality and compliance with standardsDemonstrable experience in identifying quality issues and recommending solutions that align with project objectivesValid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites as required Why Join Us You'll be part of a purpose-driven organisation that values fairness, inclusion, and supporting the wellbeing and development of our people.
