JOB TITLE: Technical Claims Handler Our client is wanting to bring an experienced claim handler with technical building expertise into their team. You will need experience of working in the buildings/construction/property/insurance sector and be looking to join a business where they care about your progression, training, with work/life balance. Starting as a handler, you will have excellent management of client skills, strong negotiation with the ability to really listen and manage client cases. This can be a fast-paced environment. Duties will involve the following: Communicating facts on all building solutions relating to claims. Ensuring you have full facts on each case prior to communication with clients.Examining documentation to ensure we are in full possession of the factsLiaising with our Surveyor or Civil Engineer who has attended site or analysed the documentation and images provided.Understand the works in process and state of progress with the claim and works carried out. Ensure the customer is updated throughout the repair process. Manage the customer, client and claimant’s experience throughout the repair process. Working alongside the building solutions team to managing the jobs from start to completion and dealing with any issuesEntering into discussions with the claimant in order to settle the claimEnsuring you keep the internal system up to date and communicate any issues internally This company have a rising stars academy and have promoted many of their talent into leadership and managerial roles, they understand the importance of valuing those that join them. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Technical building knowledgeExperience working within the claims/construction/insurance sectorsStrong negotiation skillsAbility to work to deadlinesPersonable and approachableLooking for a career, further training & progressionAbility to communicate effectively on all levelsExcellent attention to detailAnalyticalIT literate and able to pick up new systemsAbility to work on own initiative and manage own workload as well as add real value to the team HOURS OF WORK: 8:45-5:00pm Monday to Friday with 45 min Lunch STARTING SALARY: Competitive (£27,000 - £32,000 DOE) HOLIDAY: 25 days plus bank holidays, an extra 16 hours of time off in lieu taken at no more than two-hour slots which equates to the total of 27 days plus bank holidays. An additional day is also given for your Birthday if it falls on a weekday. BENEFITS: Excellent progression.
