This is a commercially structured National Account Manager role, combining external customer ownership with strong internal commercial execution, data accuracy, and structured reporting.You will be responsible for managing key national retail and wholesale accounts, delivering profitable growth, and leading senior-level commercial discussions, while also operating within a highly structured internal environment where accurate data, forecasting, and commercial reporting are critical to success.Commercial Structure This role sits within a structured three-part commercial model, working alongside a Commercial Controller who oversees internal pricing strategy, margin governance, and commercial approvals, and a Commercial Manager who manages supplier relationships, cost base, and supply-side commercial negotiations. The National Account Manager (this role) is responsible for external customer relationships, negotiations, and account performance, working collaboratively across all internal functions to ensure aligned and profitable commercial execution. This role has no direct reports.Role FocusThis is a commercially driven National Account Manager role with a strong emphasis on structured internal commercial execution alongside external customer leadership.The role requires strong capability across:Customer relationship ownership and negotiationData-led decision-making and commercial reportingStructured internal systems and process adherenceForecasting and demand planning supportHigh-level stakeholder engagementKey ResponsibilitiesNational Account OwnershipManage and develop key national retail and wholesale customer relationshipsAct as the main commercial contact for assigned accountsBuild and maintain long-term strategic partnershipsCommercial Negotiation & DeliveryLead external commercial discussions including pricing, CPI challenges, service issues, and trading performanceNegotiate trading terms and customer agreements within internal governance frameworksDeliver profitable growth across assigned accountsRepresent the business in senior customer meetings and negotiationsData, Systems & Commercial ReportingMaintain accurate and up-to-date customer and account data within CRM systemsUse Excel and reporting tools to analyse sales performance, margin, and trendsProduce regular commercial reporting to support decision-makingSupport forecasting and demand planning processesEnsure high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and governance across all systemsThis role requires strong confidence working within structured commercial systems and processesAccount Planning & GrowthDevelop and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key customersIdentify growth opportunities across distribution, NPD, and promotional activityMonitor account performance against revenue, volume, and margin targetsWhat We're Looking ForEssential Experience & SkillsProven experience in National Account Management or key account roles within FMCG / retail / wholesaleStrong commercial acumen (pricing, margin, trade spend)Confident managing senior customer negotiations and CPI discussionsStrong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilityExperience using CRM systems as part of day-to-day account managementAbility to interpret data and translate insight into actionStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience working within structured, process-driven commercial environmentsImportant InformationPlease note there is no company car or car allowance included in this package. A pool car is available on-site, and mileage for business travel using your own vehicle will be reimbursed in line with company policy.
