LHH are recruiting a private practive law firm in Stockport to recruit for a Legal Cashier to join them on a permanent full-time basis. £32,000 - £38,000 per annum (FTE) Fully in-office Purpose To ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules and firm policies. The Legal Cashier plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of client and office accounts. Key ResponsibilitiesClient & Office Account Management Post receipts, payments, and transfers accurately to the accounting system.Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules at all times.Reconcile client and office bank accounts daily. Financial Processing Process cheques, BACS, CHAPS, and electronic payments.Allocate funds correctly between client and office accounts.Handle petty cash and maintain accurate records. Month-End & Year-End Processes Month-End: Complete bank reconciliations for all client and office accounts.Review and clear suspense accounts and unallocated funds.Generate and distribute month-end reports (e.g., WIP, aged debtors, client balances).Ensure all postings for the month are accurate and complete before closing.Assist with accruals and prepayments where required.
