Location: LondonThe OpportunityAn international law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its expanding Finance team. The finance function plays a critical role in supporting the firm's strategy and operations across multiple jurisdictions and is regarded as a core part of the business rather than a traditional support service.This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, working closely with stakeholders across the UK and international offices.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Legal Cashier will provide a high-quality legal cashiering service and be responsive to the evolving needs of a busy international practice. Duties will include, but are not limited to:Managing the allocation and posting of client monies received through online banking systemsProcessing client-to-client transfers accurately and in line with regulatory requirementsInvestigating, reconciling, and allocating funds received in settlement of billsExecuting payments from client accounts via online banking platforms and cheque transactionsTaking client card payments and processing them securely through online payment terminalsCalculating client account interest, using both automated systems and manual methods where requiredHandling foreign currency transactions and related banking processesActing as a first point of contact for ad hoc cashiering queries from partners, associates, and support teamsLiaising with banking institutions to resolve operational and transactional queriesOpening, closing, and maintaining joint accounts in accordance with proceduresOverseeing cashiering transactions for international offices alongside London operationsYou will work as part of a wider cashiering team and will be supervised day-to-day by the Cashiers Team Leader.Skills & ExperienceExperienceProven legal cashiering experience within a law firmStrong knowledge of the SRA Accounts RulesExcellent IT skills; experience with legal finance systems such as CMS, Aderant, or Elite is desirableSkills & AttributesExcellent attention to detailStrong organisational and workload management skillsAbility to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a teamConfident communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levelsPersonable and relationship-focused approachCalm and resilient under pressureFlexible, adaptable, and proactive mindsetIf this job isn't quite right for you, but you know someone who would be great at this role, why not take advantage of our referral scheme?
