Legal Cashier
Our client, a great Legal Firm based in Epping are seeking a Legal Cashier to join them in a permanent position, based on skills and experience the salary will be circa £40k, this is a hybrid role although the requirements are 4 days in the office and 1 from home currently. You must be up to date with SRA rules and regulations and must have been a legal cashier in the past with another firm to be considered for this role. Key Tasks of the Role: Assist with the Firms billing process including ensuring all bills are sent out to clients same day as created. Assisting in the day to day operations in the cashiers team, ensuring that all client and office account transactions comply with SRA Accounts Rules and the Firms own internal accounting procedures. Assisting with general account enquiries, card payments and reconciliation; posting to accounts; bills and disbursements; assisting with balance enquiries; debit, credit and transfer posting to systems; Banking. To assist the Accounts Manager with enquiries as they arise, to include checking for imbalances on completion statements. To assist the Accounts Manager in ensuring that all incoming payments are allocated prompting by managing this process as required. Processing and posting of Client CHAPS/SWIFT/BACS payments as needed, ensuring an excellent service to our internal and external clients. Provide sickness and holiday cover for other members of the team if needed. Assisting the Accounts Manager with any ad hoc duties, as appropriate to include assisting with month end procedure and debt management. To run reports on a regular basis to help minimise breaches and rectifying any breaches found and logging on breach report, to include ensuring that older client balances are investigated and returned promptly, if appropriate. Methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy. Hardworking and enthusiastic approach to work. Basic knowledge of VAT. Flexibility of approach Able to interact positively at all levels within the firm and a good team player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to make decisions and remain calm while under pressure - particularly when dealing with difficult situations.
