Join us on our new, exciting contract Mears Group is delivering a long-term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across the wider Midlands region. Providing housing repairs and maintenance services across a geographically diverse social housing portfolio covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations, the contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment. Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Multi Skilled Operatives across South Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and surrounding areas. About the Role: We are looking for multi skilled operatives to join our team in Evesham. You will be carrying out a variety of property maintenance tasks, including painting, plastering, brickwork, carpentry, tiling, silicone/mastic works, groundworks and minor plumbing in tenanted properties. The role requires a delivering high-quality repairs and installations across domestic properties. With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to improving social housing standards, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that’s making a real difference in the community. Duties: Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across tenanted social housing propertiesReplacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door framesInstalling and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doorsRepairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hingesIdentifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinksCarrying out patch plastering and making good, damaged walls or ceilingsCompleting wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealingPainting and decorating to a professional finish following repair worksEnsuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standardWorking in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacyParticipating in out-of-hours emergency repair rota as requiredReporting any further works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond scopeDeliver excellent customer service while working in residents' homesAccurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheetsMaintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working orderManage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets Key Criteria: Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating)Full UK driving licenceAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homesGood understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practicesAbility to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysFamily-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity/paternity leaveLife assuranceVan & Fuel cardRefer a friend schemes Generous pension scheme and sick payEmployee Assistance ProgrammeMears Rewards – access to discounts across major retailers, including supermarketsExcellent training and development opportunitiesAnnual Mears Fun Day (previous locations include Alton Towers and Drayton Manor)Volunteering leave – up to two days per year to support community initiatives All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
