Experienced Buyer required to join an established business who are wanting to bring their buying process in-house. Working hours are Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 5.00pm and Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm. This will be a fairly dynamic role as currently all sites have a difference purchasing process, and the role requires an experienced candidate looking for a challenge, and a role they can make their own. An exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer has arisen with our client: a growing organisation in Basildon. This is a permanent vacancy with lots of scope to grow with the company. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a similar supply chain / procurement role within a multi-stakeholder environment. The responsibilities for this Buyer role includes:- Delivering year on year savings targets to meet or exceed budgets.Managing supply chain risks.Demonstrating the use of the RF(x) methodology to collate spend opportunities within spend categories, and the analytical ability to process the information received into a sourcing recommendation.Developing, leading and managing the procurement process for project specific areas of spend.Maintenance of fixed pricing schedules, maximising long term agreements and ensuring Group requirements are considered.Managing inter-company transactions and inventory movements ensuring deadlines are met (in collaboration with Warehouse personnel).Managing the supply chain to ensure sustainability of procurement sources and introducing environmental improvements to the materials and processes used in the end-to-end procurement process.Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms, pricing and service levels.Providing support to all internal and external customers as required.Taking the commercial lead in supporting of Supplier Quality in vendor related non-conformances and development, ensuring lessons learned are executed fully.Participating in HSE Awareness - Observation Cards, HSE Safety Suggestions.Adopting and promoting the company values of the Supply Chain Team whilst delivering a best-in-class performance and service to all customers. The essential requirements are:- Experience in a relevant Supply Chain / Procurement role in a multi-stakeholder environment procuring and optimising direct material spend.Sourcing skills / knowledge of 'Strategic Sourcing Cycle' & working capital processes.Experienced in the Supplier Relationship Management process / negotiation process / implementing category and supplier plans.Team player with strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel and PowerPoint.Commercial awareness, a hunger for best value and a 'Hands-on' mentality.Background in medical procurement & degree or CIPS Qualification would be preferred.
