Antibody Development Scientist
Your new companyYou'll be joining an experienced team in a leading biopharmaceutical organisation focused on advancing innovative antibody and protein therapeutics. You'll be part of a collaborative R&D environment dedicated to developing high-quality formulations that support all stages of product development.Your new roleThis is initially a 12 month contract position that has the potential to extend.The role is fully based on site at the company's labs.As a Scientist in antibody formulation development, you will support non-clinical and clinical programs by developing, analysing, and optimising formulations for monoclonal antibodies and novel therapeutic formats. Key responsibilities include:Performing analytical and formulation experiments to support toxicology and clinical studiesConducting protein/antibody analysis using methods such as HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, and sub-visible particle analysisSupporting pre-formulation and formulation laboratory activities, including setup and resource coordinationAuthoring protocols, reports, and technical documentation based on an understanding of protein degradation mechanismsPresenting findings to project teams and internal stakeholdersContributing to technology platform improvements, including automation where applicableWhat you'll need to succeedYou should have:An MSc or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related disciplineStrong hands-on lab experience with the analysis of large molecules (proteins, peptides, antibodies, etc) using a variety of techniques, preferably in an industry setting, eg a pharmaceutical company, biotech or CRO Direct experience with protein/antibody analytical methods (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI)Experience in formulation development and/or automation is an advantageExcellent communication, organisation, and teamwork abilitiesAll candidates MUST have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship until at least April 2027.What you'll get in returnYou'll get a good daily rate as well as the chance to impact the company's projects all the way from preclinical through to late phase clinical studies while working with a highly collaborative and friendly team.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Keywords: Formulation, Antibody, Drug, Protein, Scientist, pharmaceutical, Biochemistry, Biotech, Biology, Biopharma, HPLC, UPLC, Spectroscopy, Rheology, DLS, CGE, MFI, Analytical, Stability, Research, R&D, Development, Laboratory, Automation, Therapeutics, Injectable, Characterisation, Assay, Data
