We are currently recruiting for a Bar Manager to work within a well established pub based in Leighton Buzzard. For this role, the successful candidate will need prior management experience within a bar, pub or the hospitality trade (ideally a minimum of two years). Please note, this a temporary role, however, it could lead to a permanent opportunity. Start date: ASAP. Hours: 40 hours a week, and the hours are to be determined upon interview. As the Bar Manager, you will be required to take responsibility for the financial success of the business. You will have a range of duties, including administrative, leadership and practical tasks. The main function is to ensure you serve and run the bar efficiently and that the customer has the best possible experience. Main duties and responsibilities will include, however, not limited to: Leading a small team of bar staff, while pitching in to help with serving customers. Ensuring that the front-of-house is fully staffed, particularly during peak times.Meeting sales and profitability targets.Creating a welcoming environment for customers.Ensuring consistent, high quality beverages are served to customers.Dealing with customer feedback and providing adequate solutions to customer complaints.Creating a positive work environment for staff.Monitoring inventory, and ordering stock, to ensure adequate supplies are available. Adhering to health & safety regulations such as fire safety, food compliance etc. General admin duties.Responsible for cashing up, and handling budgets. Required to lock up, and be the responsible key holder. Ability to up-sell alternate services, such as room reservations. Key Skills/Requirements: Prior management experience within a pub, bar or hotel. Two years minimum. Strong customer service skills.Numerical minded. Flexible with working hours. Ability to start asap.
