Audit Assistant
Job Title: Audit Assistant The successful candidate will report to their Audit/Accounts Managers and will be responsible for the duties outlined below. Job Description: Primarily based in their office on the outskirts of Southampton, the role may also require working from their other offices, as well as visiting client premises as needed. The Audit/Accounts department operates as a team, and you will be working under the supervision of the Managers. They're looking for a part-qualified AAT candidate or someone studying towards an ACCA or ACA qualification. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Preparation: Prepare accounts using IRIS software within assigned budgets, passing them on for managerial review.Address review points and finalise accounts, including verifying disclosures for Limited Company Accounts. Taxation: Prepare Corporation Tax computations, including capital allowances. Statutory and Ad Hoc Work: Carry out statutory duties for clients.Undertake ad hoc assignments for clients as required. Administrative Tasks: Perform general office administrative duties. Training and Development: Attend training courses as directed by managers.Participate in day release study towards a recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/ACA) and maintain continuous records of work-based experience in relation to this qualification. Other Duties: Any other reasonable tasks as required. Personal Qualities: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated with the ability to think quickly and use initiative.A good team player with the capability to guide and support junior staff.Professional demeanour and presentation appropriate to a professional firm.Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with colleagues and clients.Ability to work within budgets and raise issues with managers promptly.Organised with excellent time management and record-keeping skills, particularly in maintaining timesheets on the firm's practice management software. Professional Attributes: Essential: Experience in all aspects of accounts preparation.Competence with computer packages for producing accounts.Proficiency in Microsoft products, including spreadsheets and email. Desirable: Previous experience in practices of a similar size.Familiarity with Xero and SAGE software.Experience using the IRIS accountancy suite.Audit experience (useful, but not essential).
