Deputy Headteacher

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join our dedicated team at a unique specialist provision nestled on the picturesque border of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of pupils aged 11-16 years who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ready to shape the future of education for our students. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing environment that encourages growth, resilience, and academic excellence. Your expertise will help us continue to provide a tailored educational experience that meets the individual needs of our students. Key responsibilities will include: To deliver/ teach at least 25% of either core / non-core or vocational lessons throughout the week.To assist in the management of the curriculum and ensure that the school’s curriculum is ambitious, coherently planned and sequenced towards clear end points and supports all pupils to read to age-appropriate levels.To assist and support in the EHCP and PEP process.Focus on improving teachers’ subject, pedagogical content knowledge in order to enhance the teaching of the curriculum and the appropriate use of assessment.To assist and support trainee tutors and mentor them through the teacher training process.Fully support all pupils to engender an appreciation of creativity and achievement so to be equipped with the cultural capital they need to succeed in life.Strive to ensure that there are high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and that staff are supported to positively well manage behaviour.Provide all pupils with meaningful opportunities to understand how to be healthy, respectful and active citizens and fully prepare them for their next steps when leaving the school.To provide all pupils with access to a wide and rich set of experiences in a coherently planned way.Have a clear and ambitious vision for providing high-quality, inclusive education to all pupils through strong, shared values, policies and practice.To support the Assessment lead.
