Head of Architecture
The opportunity Hybrid role based in Swindon - 2 days a week required in the office. As the Head of Architecture, you will ensure business and IT assets are mapped across the organisation, by defining and managing a set of governing principles that drives the organisation in achieving its objectives. You will ensure all technology domains (Data, Application, Security & Technology) are documented and managed.You will help define a clear IT strategy adopting the appropriate technology required to meet the business objectives and operating model. Defining target states and working with key stakeholders to build road maps that support the target direction.You'll be part of the CTO team, leading technology roadmaps, driving innovation and providing market insights. You will build relationships with the business providing consultancy and thought leadership.You will assist in defining processes and help provide a high quality, cost effective, secure design and solution service for the business, ensuring the right governance is defined, in place and effective providing a controlled and secure technology architecture. Your responsibilities will include: Manage the Architecture team including the demand ensuring stakeholder expectations and quality of output is as required. Develop, maintain, and execute an IT Strategy that underpins the business strategy and plan.Delivery Architectural blueprints and road maps that underpin the business and technology plans.Oversee design practices that support the execution of change across the organisation. Ensure design decisions are escalated via the appropriate routes and chair necessary design boards.Ensure guardrails are defined, in place and effective, supporting an agile way of working.Promote a solution design capability ensuring programmes and projects have the right support and governance.Provide thought leadership for how technology should be used to underpin the business objectives and operating model.Keep abreast of technology 'futures and competitor activity to help inform the ongoing technology strategy. What will you need to succeed? Recognised architectural framework certifications e.g., TOGAF or equivalent.Proven track record managing and creating high performing teams.Strong understanding of business and technical concepts, relationships, and modelling.Developing and executing strategies. Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps, principles, and processes.Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements.Use of Enterprise Architecture Tools e.g., Orbus iServer, Sparx EA or similar.Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making. Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends.Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
