A local regional accountancy firm are looking to welcome an accountancy professional to their team on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland. The Role: Working as part of a wider accounting team you will be supporting the Partner group with the accounts on a portfolio of Sole Traders, Partnerships and small Limited companies. The majority of these businesses are local and you will liaise with regularly to gather any required accounting information as well as answer day to day queries the may have. This is a hands on role where you will be producing year end statutory accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns, tax compliance and some management accounts. The culture: The firm have a very stable team with some employees having worked in the practice for a long number of years. People don’t tend to leave as they enjoy the relaxed and laid back environment that the Partners have created, which mirrors their style. There is a mixture of full and part-time employees and staff are afforded the flexibility they require whilst balancing the needs of the business and its clients. Experience required: Experience from a UK accounting practice is essential. Applicants must be capable of pulling together a first draft of accounts and able to prepared VAT returns. Management accounts and tax compliance can be trained if needed. The position is open to those Part or fully qualified AAT/ ACCA or qualified by experience and salary will remunerate according to the level of experience. Any supervisory experience would be advantageous as your skill set could be utilised supporting the trainees within the firm with their learning. Applicants will be experienced in the use of accounting and cloud software. The important stuff: The role can be available on a full or part-time basis with flexible hours. The team are office based which works well, however a small element of working from home could be catered for. Support for study would be considered where suitable for AAT/ACCA.
