Job Title: Youth Engagement Officer
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,859 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Shift work 7:30-3:30PM, 12:30 - 8:30PM including alternate weekends and bank holidays
Location: Hackney Vulnerable Parents, Hackney

The difference you will make as a Youth Engagement Officer

You will be responsible for support plans, risk assessments, customer reviews, undertaking assessments for both our 16/17yrs and young parents, developing parenting skills and independent living skills. You will have experience of working with young people and young parents and have demonstrable experience of parenting work and undertaking assessments, family support, child protection and some experience of care proceedings. You will also be expected to undertake group work, take the lead on complex cases as well as supporting colleagues with cases.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
  • We are looking for a motivated, flexible, and committed individual to work across our exceptional, 24 hour 16/17yrs complex needs and young parent schemes in Hackney.
  • You will have an in-depth knowledge of child development and the impact of abuse on a child’s wellbeing. 
  • You will have experience of planning 1-1 work with hard to engage young people and parents, undertaking observations as part of the assessment process. 
  • You will already have or be willing to work towards training to deliver a recognized parenting course - e.g., Triple P, Mellow Parenting, Webster Stratton etc.
