What Will You Be Doing?

As a Workshop Engineer for Daikin UK, your role will focus on producing and modifying equipment in-house and on-site within set timescales to meet customer expectations. You will be working predominantly in our workshop in Thornbury, Bristol but there will be some travel across the UK 25% of the time.

You will be involved in:

  • Production of workshop materials in line with approved working instructions (WI)
  • Liaising closely with the Workshop supervisor to ensure production is streamlined
  • Completion of production order paperwork process - to ensure that correct parts utilised are included within the BOM (bill of materials) to ensure stock levels are correct within SAP
  • Quality of modifications (<1% failure rate)
  • Completion of risk assessments and site reports for all site-based activity.
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations whilst working 'in house’ and on customers sites including construction sites.
  • Compliance with FGAS legislation at all times
  • Building relationships and representing the Daikin brand with the customer network on sites, to promote other workshop products and services.
  • Training apprentice engineers for mechanical skills such as brazing, piping fabrication, electrical assembly and FGAS practices always ensuring compliance and safety.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Full UK driving licence and happy to travel across the UK
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships internally/externally and at all levels
  • Excellent presentation skills and a confident, engaging communicator
  • Highly organised & able to prioritise
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy
  • Driven to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate customer centric behaviours and a passion for customer service
  • Confident with strategic decision making - perceptive, experience + evidence based
  • Piping fabrication (including brazing)
  • Electrical skills (reading diagrams for assembly and testing)
  • Competent in HVAC solutions
  • Refrigerant handling

You will ideally have a UK qualification in electrical engineering (e.g. NVQ or City & Guilds),FGAS, CSCS, G3 unvented hot water systems, PASMA/IPAF, and a willingness to learn new things and develop your skills.
