Job Title: Web Developer (WordPress)

Location: Maidstone (Hybrid Role - 2-3 days in-office)

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience) with review after 6 months.

The company you will be joining are a design agency based in Maidstone and specialize in WordPress web design, development, creative services, visual design, branding, and print. The team of 14 professionals operates from two offices, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. They are committed to embracing innovation, high quality work and delivering results for clients across a wide range of industries.

Position Overview:

This team are seeking a skilled Web Developer with expertise in building custom themes in WordPress. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PHP, HTML, SCSS (including SASS and CSS), and JavaScript (including Vanilla JS, jQuery, and Modular Pattern JS). Experience with Bootstrap is highly desirable. While expertise is valued, they welcome candidates with varying levels of proficiency as long as they have hands-on experience with custom theme development in WordPress.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop custom WordPress themes tailored to client specifications.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to translate design concepts into functional websites.
- Implement responsive designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Maintain and enhance existing WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring seamless user experiences across various devices and browsers.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in web development.
- Must be able to commute to Maidstone 2-3 times per week.
