Welder

My client is a pioneering agricultural machinery manufacturer based in Newmarket. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, they specialise in the design and production of cutting-edge drilling equipment for farmers worldwide. The team is dedicated to pushing boundaries in agricultural technology, revolutionising farming practices for a more efficient and environmentally friendly future. My client is looking to bring a skilled Welder onboard and be part of the team in Newmarket.

(Welder) - Position Overview

• Responsible for assisting the team to ensure the production schedule is on target and high levels of quality outputs are being maintained by performing key responsibilities.
• Welding all components of the machine the team are building.
• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, including MIG and the occasional TIG welding processes.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding and shaping metal components.
• Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet established standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering team to resolve any issues or discrepancies in fabrication plans.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

(Welder) - Position Requirements

• Experience in MIG welding, ranging from 10mm to 25mm thickness.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Having TIG experience is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and precision, with the ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding symbols.

(Welder) - Position Remuneration

• £13 - £15 per hour
• Overtime paid at time and a quarter
• 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday
• 30 days holiday including bank holidays
