Are you a tech and PC gaming enthusiast that has the ability to craft compelling copy with the managerial skills to lead and manage a team of editors? If so, this may be the dream job for you!

Our clients ambition is to become the undisputed number one media publisher in the digital gaming and tech sector, by providing their readers with unbiased, honest reviews as well as in-depth buyer guides, up to date PC build recommendations, how to’s, answer to frequently asked questions and the latest in gaming, tech and Esports news.

They’re seeking an experienced editor to lead a review site. This isn’t just any editorial role; it’s a chance to be at the forefront of the PC gaming and hardware space. As an editor, your influence will extend from managing a dynamic team to keeping our content - especially buying guides and hands-on reviews - fresh, accurate, authoritative and engaging. Expertise in SEO and affiliate marketing is vital for this position, and we expect you to have a proven track record in executing successful strategies in these areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Management and Strategy Development

o Overseeing the overall content strategy for the site, focusing on PC gaming and hardware.

o Managing content production, including buying guides and hands-on reviews, ensuring they are fresh, accurate, authoritative, and engaging.

o Developing a strategic long-term content plan to achieve traffic and engagement goals.

  • Team Leadership and Coordination

o Leading and managing a dynamic editorial team, providing guidance and feedback.

o Orchestrating the content schedule and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

o Collaborating with site editors, product reviewers, and other content creators for consistent and quality-driven content.

  • Market Trend Analysis and Audience Engagement

o Staying updated with the latest trends in PC gaming and hardware

o Understanding reader needs, particularly regarding building and optimizing gaming PCs.

o Tailoring content to deliver value and insight to a passionate gaming community.

  • Content Quality and Standards

o Upholding the highest quality standards across all of the sites content.

o Contributing written content personally, when necessary.

o Regularly reviewing and refining content based on feedback and performance metrics.

  • SEO and Data Analytics

o Applying expertise in SEO and affiliate marketing to enhance content visibility and reach.

o Utilising data analytics to inform content strategy, identify gaps, and discover new opportunities.

o Implementing successful SEO strategies to drive traffic and engagement.

  • Resource Management

o Managing resources effectively to maintain a steady flow of high-quality content.

o Balancing the editorial workload among team members efficiently.

Must Haves

  • Proven experience of team management in an online or editorial environment
  • Proven experience of managing workflow in a publishing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO and traffic acquisition
  • Able to use WordPress and Google Analytics to a professional standard
  • Excellent copy editing skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Keen interest in PC gaming
  • Specialist knowledge of PC hardware and components
  • A keen eye for content trends and how to optimise editorial output to suit current audience needs and brand objectives
  • Digital media experience within industry - hardware.
