  • Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 7am to 5pm / Friday 7am -430pm
  • Reporting to: Operations Director
  • Number of reports: 10

Job role:
To oversee and assist in the control of the daily requirements of the Reading Warehouse and Yard Logistics.

To ensure all goods in and customer orders are prepared, loaded and despatched to meet the organisations requirements.

Daily organising of the Warehouse Stock, Goods in, Goods out, Logistics and Carriage. Maintaining and meeting the organisations quality and productivity requirements.

As a Warehouse Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the warehouse finished stock orders
  • Work closely with the Logistics Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Customer Service Manager
  • Manage warehouse employees outputs, actions, attendance and conduct whilst in the workplace
  • Housekeeping and presentation of the warehouse and external yard and loading bay is maintained at a high standard
  • All deliveries are receipted correctly, accurately and efficiently
  • Where required all Transfers are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Checking and maintaining Forklifts and check records to the required standards
  • Customer orders are correctly checked prior to despatch
  • Pallets are correctly labelled and loaded onto lorries
  • Application of the organisations Health, Safety and Welfare policy ensuring compliance with current procedures and legislation

To be a success in this role, you will have the following experience/ skills:

  • Experience within a similar role; warehouse logistics, service experience, planning
  • Confident with internal systems and Microsoft Office package
  • Ability to communicate to all areas of the department and employees
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Welfare, Fire and Emergency requirements in the working environment
  • Ability and competence to make decisive decisions
  • Understanding and application of the organisations employee handbook, rules and regulations to maintain a disciplined and best practice working environment
  • Provide assistance and guidance to identify training requirements that support the departments skills requirements
  • Self-motivated and results driven with an ability to achieve targets within defined timescales
  • Dedicated to the principles of continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage change and implement change within a busy working environment
  • An understanding of all financial implications associated with fulfilling the operational requirements of the organisation Warehouse
