An exciting opportunity exists within our Volkswagen dealership at Cardiff, for a Sales Manager to join the sales team, and provide support to the General Sales Manager in running the sales department.

Location: Sinclair Volkswagen Cardiff 

Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time

Hours of work: 5 days out of 7 on a rota (working every other weekend plus one day off in the week)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within our Volkswagen dealership at Cardiff, for a Sales Manager to join the sales team, and provide support to the General Sales Manager in running the sales department. 

Key Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all sales enquiries are dealt with efficiently and professionally 
  • Analysis of departmental profit on a daily basis, ensuring costs are contained and reduced.
  • Management of the sales team and sales processes
  • Management and control of profit margins
  • Management and control of stock pricing and presentation
  • To maximise the sales and profitability of vehicles and associated products
  • To work effectively with the other departments to provide an excellent customer experience
  • To monitor and achieve KPI targets
  • To assist the General Sales Manager in maintaining policy and procedure
  • To recognize that teamwork is key and to coach and develop Sales Executives to excel in their role
  • Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the manufacturers and external suppliers
  • Ensure the sales team deliver professional customer service at all times
  • Able to market and think outside the box to increase new and used car sales

More About you:

As our ideal Sales Manager, you will ideally have experience as a Sales Manager/Business Manager within the motor trade, or an alternative industry but be able to demonstrate key customer handling, managerial and organisational skills. You will also require the following skills and experience:

  • Good understanding of both new and used vehicle sales.
  • Experience of managing a large, successful sales team.
  • Must have an appetite for generating sales
  • Current UK Driving License
