Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client within the Banking Sector, who are looking to recruit an experienced Vice President, European Financial Controller to join their team based in London.

JOB SUMMARY

Strong controls must be in place and operating as intended, and that is the Controller's responsibility. The Controller is also supposed to promote an atmosphere of ongoing process enhancement. The finance department will advance in its evolution to better serve our business teams with the help of this function.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  
  • Maintains the integrity and correctness of the financial records for the supported Region/BU and is primarily in charge of making sure the business complies with corporate and external accounting regulations.
  • Establishes, monitors, and enforces rules and procedures; provides accounting and regulatory guidance; and directs financial choices relating to company transactions, including acquisitions and investments.
  • Gives advice on new and extremely complicated topics and creates technical accounting memoranda in response. consults Corporate Accounting when necessary
  • Creates, monitors, and enforces operational and SOX controls in accordance with business policies and general governance requirements to guarantee a robust control environment. Encourage and test managers to find places where controls can be tightened.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
  • It is necessary to be an active Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or similar.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar field.
  • Strong background in financial procedures and accounting controls at a worldwide company
  • Strong understanding of general accounting, including local and US GAAP
  • Strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls Expertise in accounting and finance systems and software
