Underwriting Portfolio Analyst - Commecial Lines Insurance

City of London - Hybrid Working - 2 days pw in office.

Additional Underwriting Portfolio Analyst opportunity supporting the European arm of this global London Market Insurer.

If you are looking to join a fast-paced collaborative team and can manage large data-sets, create MI & Dashboards to communicate key Underwriting metrics, we would like to hear from you!

The key purpose of this role will be to support the Portfolio Management team, monitoring and managing Underwriting performance of a portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities of the Underwriting Portfolio Analyst:-

  • Monitoring of Underwriting performance protecting the profitability of the portfolio
  • Enhance data usage and MI availability to drive sustainable growth
  • Provide analytical support to improve business understanding of performance, including the use of PowerBI, SAS or Dataiku
  • Relationship management and collaboration with the insurance business to manage performance across different regions
  • Liaison with Actuarial, Underwriting and Claims business functions
  • Help to develop predictive account models and recommend improvements
  • Create plans and forecasts working closely with financed teams

Experience required:-

  • Proven experience of working within the insurance domain
  • Experience in managing data through relevant tools
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to think logically and work in with a fast-paced team
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or another programming language would be an advantage
  • Numerical or Science qualification
