Are you a transport planner, or similar, seeking a progressive role within a fast growing transport business, where you will benefit from ongoing training and development, and the chance to progress to a transport manager role?

This is a dynamic role within the transport industry, where you will be assisting the transport team in all planning duties in order to provide efficiency and fluidity. Your expertise in Transport Planning will be instrumental in propelling your career to new heights in this highly autonomous role.

You will be responsible for effective planning of vehicles, routes, deliveries and workloads. This role will also require you to supervise performance of drivers, tacho reporting, provide maintenance as scheduled, update traffic systems, attend operational meetings and seek all opportunities for continuous improvement.

THE ROLE:
* Plan routes, loads, deliveries and workloads.
* Tacho responsibilities
* Manage employed staff and sub-contractors
* Ensure maintenance is carried out as per schedule
* Manage any transport issues, with the ability to problem solve quickly
* Resolve late or misdelivered items

THE PERSON:
* Background in Transport / Logistics or Distribution
* Experience with planning and routing
* Knowledge of Tacho
* Commutable to Ilkeston
