Trainee Import Clerk

Our client are a small, well established freight forwarder based in Chertsey who have a position available for a Trainee Import Clerk. Full training will be provided and the successful candidate should be enthusiastic, quick to learn and looking for a career within the logistics field. This is a Mon-Friday/37.5hr week and excellent prospects are available for the right person.

Overall Purpose of the Job

Mainly dealing with specific accounts. But also helping with general air and road imports.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Seeing Air Import shipments all the way through from arrival to delivery, including invoicing.
• Import of road freight consignment on the GVMS system.
• Import of specific diversion entry from bonded warehouse and other procedures i.e. T.A.
• Adhering to import rules and regulations
• Dealing with import procedures and the CPC that have been changed after the introduction of the CDS System for customer entries
• Good interaction with colleagues needed.
• Full training will be given in all of the above, no previous experience required.

Essential Requirements

• Steady 5 year employment/education with ideally no gaps
• Able to pass a CLEAR DBS check
• Able to easily commute to Chertsey

Employment Terms

• 37.5hr week M-F
• £21-23k DOE
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
