My client, a leader in construction and maintenance services, are seeking a Trainee Buyer to join them. As a trainee you will not require experience for this position, but you will need to be willing to learn and build a career within buying. As a Trainee Buyer you will be supporting project managers and the head of procurement with the buying and purchasing of various materials for construction projects.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head of procurement and the procurement office with general day to day tasks
  • Work to strict deadlines and ensure quick turnaround
  • Assist project managers with delivery times, quantities and delivery dates
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Monitor spend against budgets and ensuring jobs are kept up to date
  • Support with stock control and ensure that all stock damages/ discrepancies are accounted for
  • Ensure that systems are kept up to date
Essential Skills:
  • This is an entry level position so you don’t need to have any skills within buying or procurement but you do need a passion to learn and willingness to try something new
  • Good basic understanding of Microsoft packages
  • Confident in building relationships
  • Good communication skills
Package:
  • £17,000 – rising to £18,500 after probation
  • Great career progression opportunities
