Job Advert: Trainee Accountant

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Are you looking to kickstart your career in accounting? Join our client's dynamic and forward-thinking Accountancy Practice in Bury St Edmunds as a Trainee Accountant. ProTalent is working with a leading firm that provides modern accounting and tax services to our diverse clientele, leveraging the latest cloud technology. As a crucial member of the Accounts Team, you will play a vital role in completing client's compliance work, including accounts preparation, tax calculations, and management reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare year-end accounts and associated tax calculations.

- Collaborate with client managers to assist with their ledgers effectively.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, purchase ledger, sales ledger, PAYE, wages, VAT, and more.

- Prepare reports, letters, and other necessary documents.

- Manage multiple deadlines, both for yourself and the wider team.

- Contribute to growing the accounts aspect of our business.

Requirements:

- Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, using your initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

- Display an adaptable, keen, and flexible approach to work.

- Possess excellent organizational skills to manage a demanding workload and perform well under pressure.

- Exhibit an excellent aptitude for monitoring the team's weekly tasks.

- Maintain a professional telephone manner.

- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior team members, clients, and suppliers.

- Possess advanced IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

- Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

- Display proficiency in using email, calendar tools, and the internet.
