Town Planner/Senior Planner - Consultancy Role

Location: Oxford/Reading

Salary: 25K - 42K

A well-established national Planning and Development team is seeking its next generation of leaders. The Opportunity:

With the aim being to expand their division, our client is seeking a chartered Town Planner/Senior Planner to join the small and strategically growing team in Oxford or Reading. This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of a team poised for expansion, working alongside experienced colleagues and shaping the future of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Guide complex residential and mixed-use developments from conception to completion.
  • Collaborate with a diverse client base, including housebuilders, commercial giants, local authorities, and renewable energy providers.
  • Provide expert planning guidance and mentorship to colleagues across the Oxford or Reading office.
  • Champion innovative solutions and advocate for your ideas with clarity and confidence.

You will be involved in projects across the board, making this an attractive opportunity for someone at Planner level to progress their multi-sector knowledge, and potentially develop their own niche for the future.

At Senior Planner level, you might be feeling ready to start taking the lead on projects, which in turn will set you on a fast-track pathway to the next level of your career.

Project Variety:

  • Commercial: Supporting a range of clients, from small-scale ventures like nightclubs to large-scale business parks.
  • Academic: Collaborating with renown Universities on campus development projects.
  • Land Holdings: Assisting landowners with planning strategies for housing and diversification projects.
  • Energy: Partnering with industry leaders on major energy projects.

About You:

  • An RTPI/MRTPI qualification
  • A skilled planner with a minimum of one to two years of experience. The team are happy to coach someone up or welcome a Senior Planner looking for leadership opportunities.
  • A passion for Town Planning and a desire to learn and grow within a supportive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience within a UK Based Town Planning role within the public or private sector.
