Our client, a leading figure in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a committed individual to join their team in Stroud, offering a salary up to £32,500. In this role, you'll be responsible for producing company products to exacting standards and quality, following drawings, written instructions, and guidance from supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform finishing welds on fabricated assemblies.
- Utilise specialised welding techniques, including TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminium structures, pipework, and components.
- Conduct purged back pipe welding on pipe, by ASME IX standards.
- Fabricate box and tubular structures in line with BS9606 - 1 & 2.
- Execute MIG applications on MS structures.
- Undertake general fabrication and fettling tasks.
- Ensure proper identification of welds using a unique stamp ID.
- Complete scheduled test pieces for third-party examination to ensure welding meets standard requirements.
- Maintain welder approvals through employer and external validation processes.
- Strict adherence to the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures, prioritising safety for oneself and others.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Proficiency in interpreting and producing work for general engineering drawings.
- Experience with general engineering equipment.
- Ability to monitor and inspect throughput accurately, referring work for concession/remedial action as necessary.
- Expertise in argon back purging on stainless pipework welding to ASME IX standard.
- Capability to weld with and without jig and fixture arrangements.
