Adecco Northumberland are looking to recruit a Test Technician for their client based in Blyth.

Purpose of Function

The role of Test Technician within the R&D, Engineering Excellence, Product Qualification, is to support with testing of products, accessories, and components, on new and serial production, in alignment with standards and test procedures. The purpose of this role is to specialise in the area of electronics and software testing.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform electronics and software testing on breathing protection products, systems, accessories, and components on new and serial production, in alignment with standards and test procedures.
  • Support the design, specification, and procurement of bespoke electronics test equipment to enable validation of new products.
  • Execute programs to test telemetry, sound pressure level, EMC, RF, ATEX, signal strength, battery and environmental performance.
  • Identify, capture, and share best practices with other Test Technicians.
  • Documentation of test results and test related data.
  • Maintenance of department standards and procedures: 5S, test procedures, SOPs, and H&S requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics of products and equipment for the PQ team.
  • Operate related processes in SAP or similar systems to get raise orders and book products or components from stock and other entities.
  • Take initiative and proactivity, maintain records of laboratory, and conduct basic equipment maintenance where required - i.e. calibration, etc.
  • Conduct Administrative duties on behalf of the PQ team.
  • All employees have a responsibility to comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties. Be a role model for other Test Technicians;

Education

  • HNC / HND Electronic Engineering or similar

Related Experience

  • Use of electronic test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers).
  • Experience of soldering and PCB assembly.
  • Fault finding down to component level.
  • Software testing and debugging.
  • MS office, SAP or similar tools, general understanding of standards and methods.
  • Experience of working in an electronics test lab, workshop, or department.
  • Experience in product testing and documentation.
  • Technical experience in mechanical and electronic functions.
  • Understanding of repeatability and reliability testing.
  • Understanding of quality requirements.
  • Experience of using, specifying and testing electronic systems and devices.
