This is an exciting opportunity to join a manufacturing business in Rotherham for 6 months+ to cover a company secondment project.

This project will suit someone with previous strong experience of buying component and raw parts within a manufacturing environment, who wants to expand their knowledge in manufacturing by taking on this interesting project with a friendly, welcoming company who will be there to support you while you settle in.

Paying in the range of £35,000 - £45,000 (PAYE), this role is responsible for:

  • Operational placing of orders with global suppliers
  • Relationship management and negotiation (where necessary) with existing supplier network, identifying and actioning cost saving wherever possible 
  • Support all sourcing activities using both ERP/MRP and Excel
  • Support the Planning & Purchasing activities for other departments, assisting with any supplier queries around cost and service performance
  • Internal stakeholder management across Production, Engineering, sales and other operational functions


This role is for you if you have:

  • Experience of purchasing raw/component parts in a manufacturing/engineering business
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and formulas
  • The ability to start immediately or on short notice
  • The capacity to commit fully for at least 6 months (holidays notwithstanding)
