An experienced Telecoms Engineer with relevant experience is needed to join our team at IPEX, a leading telecoms provider based in Manchester, on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to customers, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and assisting in the development of new products.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation to learn new skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, positive relationships with our customers and suppliers, liaising in a pleasant manner and providing clear and accurate information always
  • Providing technical support to our Service team Troubleshoot customer issues on time
  • Assisting with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line issues
  • Assisting the Operations teams, provisioning and installing new systems, conducting site surveys, general site maintenance, and conducting Technical Health Checks for Customers
  • Assist with the onboarding of new customers when required, focussing on the technical aspects including but not limited to provisioning of new phone systems, number porting, system training, creating and delivering training guides and videos with new starters
  • Liaising with Suppliers as and when required to assist in resolving customer issues and carrying out relevant testing as per their recommendations
  • Identify and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Monitor customer feedback and provide solutions to improve customer experience.
  • Able to work well on your own initiative and to demonstrate the highest levels of organisation required to meet tight deadlines
  • The suitable candidate will need to show enthusiasm to learn, be able to use their own initiative, hold a full UK driving licence

Required Experience:

  • Relevant experience within a telecoms business is preferred
  • A qualification in IT (minimum A Level) would be advantageous
  • Proven experience in VoIP engineering and administration - hands-on role supporting and/or installing IP telephony systems
  • Proficiency in SIP, RTP, and other VoIP protocols
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in VoIP environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Troubleshooting and understanding SIP messaging/tracing via Wireshark is a must
  • Good working knowledge of IP Networking and troubleshooting
  • Experience in dealing with Routers, Firewalls and network configuration
  • Experience working with 3CX-hosted solutions would be highly desirable but not essential
