Technical Accountant - Year end close down

Allen Lane is currently supporting a Greater London based Council with the recruitment of a Technical Accountant on an interim basis for three months initially. Reporting to the Chief Accountant this role will be responsible for the following duties:

Lead on the closure of the year-end accounts. Working closely with the Chief Accountant to coordinate and manage the close-down process and managing the timetable and accurate delivery of the year-end process

Managing the Statement of accounts model and making sure that the model is accurate and in line with accounting principals

Acting as a key point of contact with the Auditors and dealing with queries

Management of Close down for the Collection fund accounts

Preparation of consolidated financial statement of group accounts

The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified Accountant who has extensive experience in leading on Local Authority year-end and statement of accounts. Experience of Collection fund close down is essential and knowledge of capital accounting is desirable.
