Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Lichfield

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a team at a SEN school catering to children aged 2 to 11. Candidates must have a thorough understanding and experience in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Qualifications or Certificates:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.
  • Additional training or certification in SEN education, such as Makaton, PECS, or Team-Teach, is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school setting is essential.
  • Experience implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to the needs of SEN students is preferred.
  • Familiarity with assisting students with personal care needs is advantageous.

The successful candidate will primarily support children aged 2 to 11 with a range of SEN needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD, and SLD in a supportive and nurturing environment. Offering the chance to make a profound impact on the educational journey and wellbeing of our students.
