Teaching Assistant – Special Education Needs School – Primary

This Ofsted “Good” special school is looking to add an experienced Teaching Assistant to the tea to provide 1-2-1 and small group support for primary aged children who have special educational needs. This lovely school has outstanding facilities, and a friendly team who are committed to making sure that children love being in school.

Most pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism, so previous experience supporting children with Autism is desirable. You will be working closely with an experienced teacher and one other Teaching Assistant to support a small class of 8 children. This school provide excellent support and training for its staff and encourage professional development. This role requires a Teaching Assistant who loves seeing children overcome barriers to education, is kind, compassionate and empathetic, and who really want to be part of an amazing team. You get a warm feeling when you walk into this school, and you can see why people love to work there.
Job Role:
  • Supporting within a small class of children with additional needs.
  • Providing tailored group support with children who have a range of special educational needs.
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for pupils
  • Making learning fun and engaging for students with special educational needs
