Location: St Clears, Carmarthenshire

Hours: 8

Working pattern:

  • 3pm - 6.30pm Fridays
  • Alternate Saturdays 10.00am - 4.00pm
  • Additional hours at discussion with family

Pay:

  • Weekday (7 am to 11 pm) = £13
  • Weekends/Bank Holidays (7 am to 11 pm) = £13.00

Our client is a 13-year-old girl with Downs Syndrome who is a sociable, friendly young lady with a great sense of humour. She needs support out of school so that she can enjoy social activities. She can be nervous when trying something new but with support will try new activities. Our client requires some assistance with personal care, however, mainly she needs support to engage in leisure activities and to further develop life skills.

We are looking for a warm, patient and reliable support worker. Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people with a disability. The right candidate will be enthusiastic, fun, reliable and flexible. You are calm and patient under pressure and are able to apply a consistent approach.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for a therapy student or psychology graduate who will enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting with the client’s therapy programme and assisting with her care management plans.

Essential Information

To join me as a Support Worker you will need to: -

  • Be able to drive and have use of a car.
  • Experience of working with children/young people.
  • Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
